Spanning 2,880 square feet, the mural wraps around a fiber optic infrastructure building, transforming a utilitarian structure into a vibrant, immersive work of public art inspired by the dramatic skies of North Texas. Required as part of development approvals for the site, the mural has become something far more meaningful to the neighborhood: a bold visual landmark and gathering place shaped by atmosphere, movement, and community identity.

Working in partnership with non-profit economic development and cultural organizationNear Southside, Inc. and City of Fort Worth staff, project manager AECOM commissioned Losey, recognizing both the exceptional quality of her work and the rare opportunity to invest in an artist who lives and works within the Near Southside itself. Losey, a neighborhood resident, was able to walk to the project site from her home—an experience that uniquely informed the mural’s development and deepened its connection to place. This project also marks a significant milestone in her career as her first large-scale outdoor public artwork.

The design responds to the orientation of each wall, drawing inspiration from shifting atmospheric conditions throughout the day. Soft gradients and concentric forms echo the evolving colors of sunrise, sunset, and twilight, creating a dynamic visual experience that changes with the light.
